Watt Scraper
Unegadihi Speaks

"Now listen." Watt Scraper (Cherokee), author of the ever-popular Unegadihi Speaks, was born back in 1837. His long life has allowed him to hear about the “o'den” times and experience some of them, too. He not only knows, well . . . everything, but also can tell a tale or two about them very things he knows so much of. He writes for Red Ink out of the sheer enjoyment of telling it like it is. His commentary entertains and reminds his readers that the problems facing us in the present and future are almost always solved by lessons learned from the past. Old-man Scraper is in good health, still living in out in Northeastern Oklahoma where he spends his time drinking coffee, telling stories, and waiting for his “grandchildrens.”

Watt Scraper has retired from writing for Red Ink. We hope to honor him with an anthology of all of his stories in the near future.
